Liyan (ChrisB) Liu
MSc, RP
Art Psychotherapist & EMDR Therapist
ChrisB Liu holds a Master of Science in Art Psychotherapy from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is a Registered Psychotherapist (Ontario), a UK-registered Art Psychotherapist, and a trained EMDR therapist.
ChrisB provides person-centered, trauma-informed care for individuals coping with chronic pain, trauma, grief, anxiety, and life transitions. Her integrative approach combines talk therapy, creative expression, mindfulness, and EMDR - always tailored to each client’s needs and pace.
Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, ChrisB is committed to compassionate and culturally sensitive care. She sees art as a bridge to the inner world - a way to uncover feelings and stories that words alone may not capture. Through EMDR, she gently helps clients process distressing memories, reduce emotional intensity, and restore a sense of safety and empowerment.
With experience in diverse settings- including detention centres, long-term care, Indigenous communities, churches and outpatient clinics - ChrisB brings flexibility and sensitivity to every therapeutic relationship.
Outside of her clinical work, ChrisB is also a candle maker. She views candles as symbols of light in dark places, a reminder of hope and the beauty of life even in times of struggle.
At Northville Rehabilitation Centre, ChrisB is dedicated to helping clients reclaim emotional well-being, connect with creativity, and rediscover hope and meaning as part of their recovery journey
